Elk season is here! this is the time of year all of us get jazzed. We are looking forward to documenting the process of getting a bow with our trad gear, but more importantly we would like to help you gain the confidence to set out on your own elk adventure! We have created several resources that will help you not only gain confidence, but also gain skill. Our lats three podcast have all been elk focused. With them, we are trying hard to introduce people to the game. We want to point out what to expect, but more importantly, to light the elk fire!
The past couple of YouTube videos have been geared towards the season as well, and we are creating more as I write. If you haven't caught them you can start watching them here.
Keep an eye out for more calling, scouting, and barebow tactics as the season progresses.
If you are finding what we are bringing you helpful, or entertaining would you be willing to help us out? It takes a bunch af time and money to produce conte...
I can almost remember the exact day I put the VHS Elk Fever into the VCR and stood in utter disbelief. At 16, it was official...I had caught Elk Fever. After that day for years it was a yearly ritual to watch the video before opening day. Since then there have been a ton of others added to the list, but Larry, Dwight, and Steve were the ones that transferred the elk fever to a whole generation. If you have never heard of these guys that might be because you are new to bowhunting. That is fine, but I guarantee you the people who are putting out content today were in one way or another inspired by them.
so go check out where it all started, check out the pioneers...Youtube has all 3 Elk Fevers and they are guaranteed to help you get your stoke on!

I was really bummed, almost depressed when I uploaded the last video of the series because I thought it signified the end of bowseason. After Talking with Jonathan at 3 Rivers Archery about post season blues, he brought up a great point...Did I check the regs for seasons that I overlooked? I know Bear season is still open until the 31st, but one thing I didn't take into account was that Silver Gray Squirrel season is open year around in my part of the state. After the abuse I took from one of them this deer season, I wouldn't feel at all bad to fill a bag full of those little loudmouths. Besides, I'm always touting the benefits of hunting small game, and how it will help you learn how to stalk and draw on big game....
Jerry and I recently sat down and talked Gear, Blacktails, and about The of Traditional Bowhunting with Aron Snyder. It was a engaging conversation that I think we should all engage in. Traditional Bowhunting, all hunting should be inviting. If we don't recruit more people in our ranks we will lose the our Hunting Heritage.
